How Does A Bail Bond Work?

A bail bond is a contract between a bail agent, the court, and the defendant or the co-signer. The bail agent agrees to pay the full bail amount if the defendant fails to appear in court on the scheduled date. In exchange for the bail agent’s services, the defendant or the co-signer pays a non-refundable fee or a percentage of the total bail amount.
